Electrical Engineer

Austin Brockenbrough & Associates, LLC is a multi-discipline consulting engineering firm located in Richmond, Virginia. Brockenbrough provides civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering; architecture; and surveying services. Brockenbrough has term contracts with several federal, state, and local clients and serves many private clients.

We are seeking a qualified Senior Electrical Engineer who is self-motivated and ready to contribute to the future success of Brockenbrough.

This position provides the opportunity to work on a variety of design projects. Projects may include wastewater treatment plants; a computer data center; an interstate rest area, or even a military fuel storage and distribution facility anywhere around the world. Our services include designs, arc flash studies, and voltage calculations.

Responsibilities

Perform electrical design, inspection, and planning services of systems for a variety of facilities for commercial, industrial, and government clients.
Designs include interior and exterior power distribution and lighting, service entrance, short circuit, coordination lighting, voltage drop, and arc flash calculations.
Determine the client’s needs and produce solutions that are within their scope and budget.
Work alongside other professionals in various disciplines in the development of designs.
Ability to produce Construction Documents including drawings and specifications.
Perform construction phase services such as submittal review and approval, respond to contractor requests for information (RFIs), conduct site investigation visits, etc.
Perform site assessments and develop detailed reports with recommendations and cost estimates.
Prepare accurate, well-organized, and detailed CAD drawings from field measurements and notes.
Able to meet project budgets, schedules, and performance criteria in a fast-paced environment.
Travel within the state is required. The ability to travel nationally or internationally is a plus.
