Coca-Cola Bottling Plant

“The Coca Cola building has been vacant for many years; it has fallen into a state of disrepair including the decomposition of the primary roof system due to age, exposure and damage caused by penetrations for earlier modifications (fixed antennas.) As a result of the damage to the roof, as well as water entering through window, door and other openings, significant water damage has occurred. The building originally built around 1938, designed by Courtney Stewart as a Mission/Spanish Revival style is listed in the historic preservation unit of the city’s comprehensive plan and is also listed on the Broward Trust for Historic Preservation’s Significant and Endangered Sites in Broward County.

The team was charged with the Architectural and Structural/Building Envelope and Site Engineering Services required for the Building Envelope and Façade Restoration of the Coca Cola Bottling Plant to be remediated and repurposed as offices for the County Staff.

External improvements included providing the civil infrastructure connection pathways for future water, sewer and fire service, along with storm drainage connections for roof drains and ADA access from the garage through the East and North alleyways to the rear of the Building located at 644 S. Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale, FL.”
