The design of a new, unique 40,000 ft² two-story library with expansion capability for a future 20,000 ft² addition. This building was constructed on a 22 acre property in Henrico County; in a rural type setting, accenting the natural surroundings, but close enough to accommodate and connect the surrounding community. Stratus designed the HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, and Information Technology systems within the building and to a point five (5) feet outside the building. This project was completed in 2017 and received a 2017 AIA/ALA Library Building Award.
